Freezing Peaches
We know you love to buy bushels of our tree-ripe peaches for eating all
winter. Here's an easy way to freeze peaches. Another way to get your peach-fix
in the winter is to buy our tasty peach jams and cherry jam, which make
great gifts, too.
- Peel peaches with pairing knife or blanch peach in boiling water to remove skin.
- Remove pit and dice peach into large to medium chunks, (not too small).
- You will need about one quart of peaches in a ½ gallon pitcher (1/2 full).
- Mix one cup of sugar, or less if you desire, with one teaspoon Everfresh or other non-browning agent
(Some people use orange juice concentrate or lemon juice.).
- Pour sugar mixture into pitcher with peaches and put on lid. Carefully tip pitcher back and forth to mix sugar with peaches.
- Pour peaches and syrup into 1 quart plastic ziplock freezer bag and seal.
- Put peaches in freezer.
- Partially thaw peaches when ready to eat. Don’t let them thaw all the way or they will be too soft. Enjoy!
